Kerala High Court on Friday directed the state government to submit the intelligence report on the attack on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in Kannur. The court also asked where the security guards were when the incident happened.

Justice Thomas P. Joseph issued the directive while considering the bail applications of three CPM leaders accused in the case. When the petitions came up for hearing, Director- General of Prosecutions T. Asaf Ali submitted that several persons hurled stones at the CM and that the case was in its preliminary stage. So bail should not be granted to the accused.

When the court asked the DGP whether there was enough security for the CM, he replied that there was enough security. When asked about the intelligence reports, the DGP said that there were intelligence reports and security was strengthened. The court observed that there were multiple stone- pelting incidents and asked whether police were probing it. The state submitted the case diary.

The court was considering the bail applications of 14th accused K. Muraleedharan, who is the municipal vice-chairman of Thalassery, 18th accused T. Raghavan, CPM area committee member, and M. M. Kunhiraman, Kannur district panchayat member.
